Mabul Resort & Borneo Divers
Mabul Island is a small island off the South-Eastern coast of Sabah in Malaysia. It is administered as a part of Semporna, Tawau district. It became popular in the 1990s due the proximity to the world renown Sipadan Island. Sipadan Island is located 15km away from Mabul Island, a 20-hectare piece of land surfaces 2 to 3 meters above sea level.
Mabul’s reef is on the edge of continental shelf and the seabed surrounding the reed slopes out to a depth of 25 to 30m. The island is arguably one of the richest single destinations for exotic small marine life anywhere in the world.
Borneo Divers Mabul Resort is located in the East Coast of Sabah, just off the coastline of Mabul Island. There are a total of 25 dive sites in Sipadan and Mabul Islands. Voted as one of the top 10 dives by Scuba Travel, UK and top 50 best dive sites in the world by sportdiver.com, it is home to over 3000 species of fishes and 100 types of coral species. Now Sipadan Island is a fully protected conservation zone and Borneo Divers fully supports the conservation effort. Definitely a macro diver’s dream destination – Mabul Island.
The resort offers rooms with a/c, fan, ensuite bathroom, private veranda. Restaurant, bar, pool and spa on site. Sipidan Island is closed every November for conservation purposes.
Packages Include: Accommodations (king or twin beds) , scheduled return gorund transfer from Semporna jetty to Borneo Divers Mabul Resort, 3 meals daiy with snacks and coffee/tea and juice (except for arrival and departure day), one Sipadan package including one day Sipadan permit, Semporna jetty fee of 6T 3 boat dives/day around Mabul and Kapalai or Sipadan), guide, unlimited jetty house reef guides without guide except for arrival and departure days, For the Sipadan trip you dive Sipadan 2 dives in the 1 day permit. Night dives (AOW and above) on house reef until 7:30 pm. Snorkelers have unlimited shorkelig at the house reef from the resot jetty, life jacket provided. Snorkelers can also go on dive boat. Not Included: *Tourism tax of RM10 per night per room, jetty fee of US$3, gear for diving or snorkeling, gratuities, instruction. Executive Beach Chalet offer more privacy, tv, frig, safe.
